Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic awarded in Teslic today 153 grants for housing to families of fallen soldiers and invalids of war.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic stressed deeply human aspect of this project and the commitment of the Government to finalize the whole project of providing housing for the families of fallen soldiers and invalids of war by the end of the year.
"We understand that there is a certain number of families who have not been included in this list for various reasons – due to weaknesses of the recording system or inadequate papers but the Government is committed to keep addressing this issue”. Prime Minister said and announced that the issue of providing housing for these social categories in Teslic would soon be solved.
Minister of Labor and Veterans Petar Djokic stated that the tender for selection of contractor for constructions of a residential building with 24 flats for the families of fallen soldiers and invalids of war in Teslic municipality would be closed on 5 August.
Minister Djokic reminded that the Government of Republic of Srpska began with activities on providing housing for these veterans’ groups in 2008 with the decision to provide housing for 5,606 families.
"36 million would be allocated for this purpose this year out of which 25 million for construction and 10.2 million for grants but also partly for realization of obligations from last year", Minister Djokic said.
He added that in the year when Republic of Srpska had been hit by terrible floods, the Government demonstrated by a number of decisions its responsibility toward the population.
Minister Djokic pointed out that he was proud that the Government would bring this program to an end.
"Total value of this project of around KM 100 million is no small but we should always bear in mind the sacrifice of the people and soldiers for the Republic of Srpska and the fact that there is no material compensation for the human life or part of the body", Djokic said.
