Minister of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation Zlatan Klokić opened today, Wednesday (17 May 2017), the exhibition Meeting Saint Petersburg at the second floor of the National Library of the Republic of Srpska.
"Everyone knows that the cultures and traditions of our peoples are connected and that relations between the two parties have always been at an enviable level, and it is our desire to keep improving those relations," said Klokić during the opening of the exhibition.
"The Days of Culture of St Petersburg in Banja Luka is a product of our cooperation, by which we want to bring the values and accomplishments of St Petersburg closer to the citizens of the Republic of Srpska, and to apply the tested methods of developing and strengthening culture and cultural heritage," emphasized Klokić.
St Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities with a very rich cultural identity, sometimes even dubbed an open-air museum. Its boulevards, monuments, temples and palaces illustrate great accomplishments of the Russian people and represent jewels of architectural and cultural heritage of humanity.
According to the Minister, the purpose of the exhibition is to present at least a portion of beauty of St Petersburg to the Republic of Srpska and thus to bring closer the history of its origins, development and tradition nurturing, because there is no future for a people without tradition and history.
Klokić thanked the Vice-Governor Movchan and representatives of committees of the City of St Petersburg for honoring this event with their presence, and wished the citizens of Banja Luka to enjoy the cultural creations of St Petersburg.
