Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Petar Đokić said that the indutrial production in the Republic of Srpska in nine months of this year has increased by 3.5% compared to the same period of the last year.
He said that data was different if analyzed by different sectors in manufacturing industry, where the growth went above 12 percent in the exploitation and mining and quarrying, while in the filed of furniture manufacturing above 16 percent, compared to the same period of the last year.
'We have a real economic growth this year and we expect to have the nominal growth in gross domestic product. We will see whether we will be able to achieve a rate of two percent,' said Minister Đokić.
He said it was important that there was new investment and that some of the previously initiated activities would be completed or were already completed.
Minister Đokić reminded that one of those investments was Metal Silicium Factory 'R-S silikon' in Mrkonjić Grad, and that Thermal Power Plant Stanari was in the trial run preparation phase.
When it comes to energy facilities, Minister Đokić pointed out that 14 small hydropower plants were currently being built, and that the construction of new ones will begin the following year.
He believes that the trend of economic growth will continue in 2016 as well, which is the main goal of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, because it contributes to the reduction of unemployment.
Minister Đokić reminded that at the beginning of 2012 in the Republic of Srpska 154,480 unemployed were registered, while for ten months of this year 135,000.
'This is a result of the activities conducted by the Republic of Srpska Government and line ministries. In general, it is a good sign that the Republic of Srpska economy develops,' said Minister Đokić.
