Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Petar Đokić opened today in Banja Luka 'Forum on economic cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Serbia Banjaluka 2015'.
The aim of the Forum is to increase foreign trade between the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
The event was attended by the representatives of over 170 companies and representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
The Minister recalled that most of the economic activities in the Republic of Srpska and Serbia were performed through small and medium sized enterprises.
He stressed that in the period from 2010 to 2014 BAM 550 million was allocated to support SMEs development in the Republic of Srpska, out of which BAM 104 million of grants, the majority of which (over BAM 88 million) was distributed through the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy of Serbia, Miloš Petrović, said that the conclusion of this meeting should be to find a way to work together and thus enter the third market.
He said that the next year would be declared for the year of entrepreneurship by Serbian government, which 'will not lack an importance for SMEs' as a pillar of the economy.
During the Forum were signed: Memorandum on Cooperation between SMEs Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska and National Agency for Regional Development of Serbia, and Agreement on Cooperation between Olympic Center Jahorina and Ski Resorts of Serbia.
