Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Petar Đokić visited today the company Mofas in Istočno Sarajevo, together with new owners Director of company In time Šefik Husaković and Director of German company Paul Berhart from Hamburg Dirk Ote.
On that occasion, Minister Đokić expressed his satisfaction with the successful start of the production process in the newly formed company Mofas in Istočno Sarajevo, to which a significant contribution was given by direct engagement of the Republic of Srpska Government and line ministry.
'I am pleased to say that the production process in this new company is ongoing and that 96 workers work again,' said Minister Đokić.
He stressed that the workers, who were taken from 'Famos' had received their salaries for the past three months, and after a long time the outstanding contributions to these salaries were paid, which would be continued in the forthcoming period.
In his opinion, the complete product range of 'Mofas' is exported, and the new owners and partners are satisfied with the beginning of the joint operation.
'There are some initial problems, which will gradually be overcome. We expect in the next year for the operations of this company to be completely stable and successful,' said Minister Đokić.
In his opinion, what is important is that the Republic of Srpska Government, entering into the process of restructuring of the manufacturing and the financial sector, managed to prevent this company to go bankrupt as some other companies in the Republic of Srpska.
Minister Đokić said that a good start of 'Mofas' was an opportunity for the development of other segments of the metal industry in that region, as well as for the education of young people in the field of manufacturing.
"In a similar way we are resolving the situation in the other companies owned by the Republic of Srpska Government. For the next few weeks we plan to intensify talks with the Directorate SKS in Belgrade in connection with the restructuring of the factory 'Famos - Koran' in Pale', said the Minister.
Minister Đokić added that partner from Belgrade had expressed his readiness to take over production facilities of Famos Pale and, as he said, the Factory of Special Purpose Engines – FMSN should be activated in a similar way.
