“Drvoplus”, the competitive team from Banja Luka, won the first place in this year’s Competition for the Best Technological Innovation, which was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Srpska on Friday, 12th December, 2014.
The design of the winning “DBD” idea includes recycling wooden waste assortments into components for building weekend cottages, bungalows, fences, playgrounds, and other objects made of wood. The way for processing the components and their assembling is simple, fast and technologically undemanding. Therefore, they can be made from any type of wood.
The second and the third place were won by the winner's fellow citizens, the “Spikelab” team for “SPL” innovation and the “Srednjoškolci” team for “Simple math” innovation.
Mr. Jasmin Komić, PhD, the Minister of Science and Technology, said that this competition should help our country and its innovators increase their competitiveness, which is one of the fundamental means for reaching the quite demanding market. This will, eventually, result in creating new job positions, as one of the main goals of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.
Six teams made it to the final part of the competition, and the total prize budget amounted to 35 000 KM.
