Minister of Finance of the Republika Srpska, Zora Vidovic, spoke today in Banja Luka with Adam Drosdzol, the newly appointed resident director of the KfW Development Bank, on projects in the Energy Efficiency, revitalization and construction of Water and Sewage infrastructure, as well as development projects in the Electricity Sector.
"We are very grateful to the KfW Development Bank for its readiness and willingness to support the Republika Srpska and to successfully implemented projects so far, which are of great importance for the development of the Republika Srpska," said Minister Vidovic, adding that special support to the local communities is important, of which direct benefit to citizens.
Minister stressed that the Government of the Republic of Srpska recently accepted a grant from KfW for an energy efficiency project in public buildings, which should contribute to the approximation of EU standards in the field of energy efficiency.
"We are particularly pleased with the fact that KfW also provides grants with loans, without which it would be very difficult for municipalities and cities to secure the necessary funds for key projects," said Minister Vidovic, stating that one of the successful projects is water supply and wastewater disposal worth € 18 million in Banja Luka.
The Director of KfW Development Bank Office expressed interest in projects in the field of energy, where after successfully completing two phases of the project of revitalization of HPP Trebinje 1, Phase three of the revitalization continues with the aim of extending the working life of the Hydroelectric power plant.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and stated that he expects a successful continuation of cooperation in accordance with the existing program commitments of that financial institution.
