Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković spoke today with the management of The Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of the Republic of Srpska and leadership of the Pensioners Association of the Republic of Srpska.
Prime Minister Višković stated that January pensions whose disbursement has started today were 3.11% higher.
"January pension for 265,000 pensioners in Republic of Srpska have been increased by 3.11%. According to the statistics, since the introduction of the new Pension and Disability Insurance Law in 2013, this is the largest single pension increase in Republic of Srpska", Prime Minister said and added that the Government would follow up on the extraordinary increase of pensions pursuant to the budget revenues increase.
"Since 2013, the pensions have been raised 28%. I cannot say that I am satisfied with this and that the standard of living of our pensioners is good but the Government of Republic of Srpska will do everything to enable extraordinary increase of pensions in accordance with its financial possibilities", Prime Minister Višković said and added that the Government had always had understanding for pensioners and in 2019 compensated the missing funds needed to pay the pensions in the amount of BAM 212 million from the budget.
"For January pension alone, we collected BAM 64 million from taxes and contributions. The funds needed for the January pension payment amounts to 96 million which means that 50% of the missing funds were provided by the Government and the budget this month", Prime Minister Višković emphasized.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska praised the work of the Pension Fund and also the Association of Pensioners of the Republic of Srpska whose leadership also attended the meeting in Bijeljina in the Pension Fund HQ and said that the assistance of the Government and institutions of Republic of Srpska to the pensioners would be continuous.
President of the Pensioners Association Rade Rakulj commended the 3.11 percent increase of pensions and pointed out that the issue of property of pensioners 'clubs has been resolved at the meeting.
"The pensioners associations will be able to invest in the pensioners clubs facilities, maintain them but they will not be able to dispose with them", Rakulj said.
Management of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund informed Prime Minister Viškovic and Minister Duško Milunović about the situation in the Fund and plans for the next period as well as the results achieved last year.
Director of the Pension Fund Mladen Milić said that the Fund would work on constant improvement of its activities and performance in efficient, economical and quality manner in order to fully provide full services to all beneficiaries of the Fund.
