Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković visited today the municipality of Berkovići and met with the Mayor and leadership of this local community.
Prime Minister Višković stated that the Government would approve BAM 120,000 for the completion of primary and secondary water supply network in Dabrica so that 150 households in that area get water supply system recalling that the Government of Republic of Srpska in 2018 and 2029 had provided BAM 120,000 for that purpose.
Prime Minister Višković said that the Mayor of Berkovići, Nenad Abramovic briefed him during the meeting about the resources of this local community such as water, ore, bauxite, stone, clay, and supported that with documentation that could be used in contacts with potential investors.
Prime Minister noted that Berkovići was one of few municipalities which had not been included in the donations of the Serbian Government and promised to help in this regard so that some projects in Berkovici could be nominated for those funds.
Prime Minister Višković c said that the project for the "Hrgud" Wind Farm was underway and that there will be a meeting with the delegation of the German investor and a concessionaire on Thursday.
"According to information provided by the Power Utility Company of Republic of Srpska and the line ministry, the activities are proceeding well and we expect the first preparatory works to start next year while sometime in 2023 we can expect this wind farm to be active", Prime Minister Višković said adding that the expected the revenues from this plant to be from 600,000 to 700,000 BAM.
"It will certainly improve the quality of life in this local community and help people stay with their families here", the Prime Minister said.
The Mayor of Berkovići Nenad Abramović thanked Prime Minister for the visit and briefed the Prime Minister on the economic and social situation in Berkovići municipality .
Abramović said that construction of the wind farm "Hrgud" was particularly discussed which would be the basis for overall development of this municipality in the future.
"We have been assured that this wind farm will be operational in 2022 or 2023 which is acceptable timeframe for us. After building that capital project, it will be much easier to plan and lead the overall development of Berkovići in the coming period", the Mayor said and added that the assistance of the Government in co-financing some of the projects in Berkovići municipality will be most welcome.
"We have agreed that the first priority is water supply in Dabrica community. Furthermore, the municipality will invest BAM 800,000 this year for the development of road infrastructure and other facilities", Mr. Abramović said and and added that they also discussed the construction of the Berkovići-Nevesinje road for which the tender would be announced during the year.
