Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković met today (14 February 2020) with the delegation of the 'Zarubezhneft' Company led by its Managing Director, Sergei Kudryashov in Banja Luka. The meeting focused on the activities of 'Zarubezhneft' in Republic of Srpska and its business plans for the coming period.
The participants of the meeting expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation achieved so far and belief that cooperation would continue in the future.
The management of 'Zarubezhneft' stated that the company would remain in Republic of Srpska and wanted to expand its operations.
They emphasized that 676 workers are currently employed at the Oil Refinery Brod whose salaries are 30% higher than the average salary in Republic of Srpska and that the wage growth trend will continue in the coming period. In this regard, the management of the Company confirmed that there would be no downsizing of the staff, as some media reported.
During the meeting, special attention has been given to projects of the autonomous gasification of the Brod Oil Refinery, expansion of the gas stations network, construction of solar power plants, gas power plants and hydrogen production.
It has been emphasized that implementation of those projects would significantly contribute to environmental protection and compliance with all standards which are applicable in the field of the company's main operations.
The interlocutors agreed that realization of those projects, as well as the project of gasification of the Republic of Srpska was of strategic importance since its energy products will be placed on the markets of countries in the region which will further strengthen the Republic of Srpska economically.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković emphasized that the Government of Republic of Srpska was committed to the improvement of the business activities of the 'Zarubezhneft' and that the Government would fully support implementation of all the above projects.
The representatives of 'Zarubezhneft' have sent a clear message that they see a lot of opportunities for cooperation in this region and also a development opportunity in the rich resources available in the Republic of Srpska.
In attendance of the meeting were Serb Member of BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Djokic, Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology Srebrenka Golić, Minister of Finance Zora Vidović and Head of Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Russia Duško Perović.
