Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan
Višković spoke today with the new UN Resident Coordinator in BIH Ingrid
Macdonald who paid an introductory visit to Banja Luka.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska extended gratitude
to the UN organizations and especially to the UNDP for all donations given to
the Republic of Srpska during the fight against the corona virus and stressed
the importance of this support and assistance to the health system and citizens
of Republic of Srpska.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Višković apprised the
UN Resident Coordinator about the current epidemiological situation and the
challenges Republic of Srpska had faced in the past.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that
the institutions of Republic of Srpska have undertaken adequate measures to address
the epidemic of coronavirus and that due to organized work and good
decisions taken preserved the health system and public health of the population of
the Republic of Srpska.

Ingrid MacDonald praised the measures and efforts implemented by Republic of Srpska
during the coronavirus crisis on protecting the health of the people and
stressed the relevance of exchanging information and experiences in a
situation where the whole world was facing pandemic.
Ms. Macdonald also briefed Prime Minister Višković about
preparation of the UN-BiH Cooperation Framework Agreement (2021-2025) and
reiterated the readiness of the UN organizations to offer its available capacities in
assisting the Republic of Srpska institutions.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also talked about the economic situation in Republic
of Srpska and Prime Minsiter underlined that institutions of
Republic of Srpska provided support to enterprises which work had been hampered by the pandemic expressing at the same time satisfaction with the achieved
level of cooperation and confidence that cooperation will continue in future.
Prime Minister Višković congratulated Ms. Macdonald for
assuming the office of the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH and extended best
wishes for successful work and term in office.
