Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić attended today the signing of the Cooperation Agreement in Digital Transformation between the Governments of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.
The Agreement was signed by the Minister for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srdjan Rajčević and the Director of the Office for Information Technology and E-Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mihailo Jovanović.
Minister Rajčević said that the Agreement covers several segments of digital transformation, including information security in the area of E-Government and electronic services and represented synchronized efforts of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska in this sector.
The Minister further explained that the Agreement was a more detailed elaboration of the Memorandum on Scientific and Technological Cooperation signed by the Governments of Serbia and Republic of Srpska last year during the joint session in Belgrade.
"Everything that the Government of Serbia under the leadership of Prime Minister Ana Brnabić has done in the field of digital transformation is something that we in Republic of Srpska should strive for, and above all, the building of the e-government system in which the Serbian Government already has extensive experience" , Minister Rajčević said and added that there was some symbolism in this because Republic of Srpska celebrates its 28th anniversary which is a sign that it is heading in the right direction by developing digital transformation simultaneously with the reform processes in higher education.
Director of the Office for Information Technology and E-Government of the Republic of Serbia Mihailo Jovanovic stated that the idea and the concept of digital transformation in the past two years in Serbia have led to the development of a large number of information systems and e-government systems.
"Aware that we still have a lot of work to do to raise the E-Government system in Serbia to the level we want, and at the same time to make public administration transformation into an efficient service for citizens, the Government of Serbia has decided to launch a program of knowledge sharing in the field of digital transformation", Mr. Jovanović said and added that the aim of the Program under the slogan - "Serbia digitizes" is to make the knowledge and expertise acquired by Serbia in the last two years in this area available to the countries in the region and beyond.
"The first signatory to this program is Republic of Srpska and we hope that it will soon reach the level of Serbia through digital transformation and development of E-Government services," Mr. Jovanović emphasized.
