A call for project proposals has been launched within the EU's Europe for Citizens Programme 2014-2020. The deadline to submit applications is 1 September 2020, by 17:00 hrs.
This call aims to encourage democratic and civic participation at the European Union level, by developing citizens' understanding of the EU policy-making processes and promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering at the European Union level.
This call is funded under Thematic Priority 2 - Democratic Engagement and Civic Participation, as follows:
- town twinning, (maximum project budget is EUR 25 000);
- networks of towns, (maximum project budget is EUR 150 000);
- civil society projects, (maximum project budget is EUR 150 000).
The call is open to public institutions and non-profit organisations.

Programme Europe for Citizens is one of the programmes of the European Union aimed at promoting European Identity and European Citizenship, as well as cooperation among the countries participating in the Programme in different areas connected by the common policies. By promoting joint European history and by encouraging the accountability of Europe for its citizens as well as their responsibility for the direction of further European development, the programme Europe for Citizens is aimed at better understanding of the European Union, its history and diversities, as well as at strengthening the idea of European citizenship and citizen participation in the decision-making on the future of the continent.
