The Republic of Srpska Prime Minister Deputy, Srebrenka Golić, met with the marketing manager of the company M:tel joint stock company Banja Luka, Đorđe Mišić, and technical manager of this company, Miodrag Vojnović. The meeting was also attended by Banja Luka Mayor, Slobodan Gavranović, together with his associates, the Republic Attorney, Slobodan Radulj and director of the Republic Administration for Surveying and Property-Legal Affairs, Miloš Komljenović. At the meeting, representatives of M:tel presented the intention of this company to file a request for issuance of a permit for building the underground cable ducts network at the territory of Banja Luka City, aiming at further strengthening of its telecommunications network and providing a wider scope of services to the customers.
Provided that this is a project with its estimated value of BAM 24 million, and which primarily demands infrastructural work at the territory of the City, it has been agreed at the meeting that the aforementioned institutions should get engaged in accordance with their responsibilities, in order to start with implementation of this great and significant project as soon as possible, and which would also be of significant advantage for the City of Banja Luka. It was concluded at the meeting that a uniform model was required enabling building the cable ducts network and its applicability throughout other municipalities of Republic of Srpska, and for the other operators, too. A Working Group consisting of the representatives of the aforementioned institutions and the M:tel company was formed at the meeting, that then had a meeting and made an operational plan for creating prerequisites for implementation of this project.
On this occasion the Prime Minister Deputy, Srebrenka Golić, said:
“Given the fact that this is a project where M:tel is investing significant funds and that will provide, not only financial benefits in terms of fees collection, but also significant progress in technical and technological sense, to the City, and which they will get for free, I believe that commitment of all institutions involved in this process is necessary in order to reach the final objective, and this is building the cable ducts network of the investor M:tel joint stock company Banja Luka, for general good. Building the cable ducts network at the territory of Banja Luka City, in the total length of 143 kilometres, also presents a business opportunity for domestic building operations.”
