Today, in Drinjaca near Zvornik, His Eminence Bishop Fotije
of Zvornik and Tuzla presented the Order of the Holy King Dragutin to the Prime
Minister of Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković for his loyalty to the Church
and selfless Christian love, efforts and sacrifice shown during the
restoration of the Church of Martyr Deacon Habakkuk.
After receiving the order, Prime Minister Višković
said that it was great honor for every person, Prime Minister as well, to
receive such a high recognition in his place, in his region, on such a great
holiday when the Church celebrates the baptism of the Holy Deacon
Habakkuk.
"Bishop Fotije and the people of the Church who
are committed to the things that matter most and that is survival of our people
in this area, have assessed that I deserve recognition for what I have
done in the past period as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska",
stated Prime Minister Višković.
Emphasizing that he has been with the Serbian Orthodox
Church since his birth and that he inherited this from his parents who were
also devoted to the Church and religion and everything good from God, Višković
said that the recognition was not due to the fact that he is the Prime Minister,
but because he has been with the holy Church since he was born.
"Sincerely speaking, it impresses every person,
including me, that the Church recognizes one’s efforts, hard work and
commitment as Bishop Fotije said that we should do - the Church its share, the
institutions of the Republic of Srpska theirs, so that together we protect our
people to survive and stay in these areas", Prime Minister Višković said
expressing great gratitude to Bishop Fotije and the priest of this church Marko
Danojlović and all the people who considered that he should receive this important
recognition from the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Bishop Fotije called on the faithful people to protect
and preserve their church and history in these areas where the Serbian people
have lived for centuries.
Previously, Prime Minister Višković attended the Holy Liturgy
and litany on the occasion of celebration of the day Saint Deacon Habakkuk.
