Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković met
today with the Chief of the International Monetary Fund Mission for BiH Alina
Iancu and the IMF Resident Representative in BiH, Andrew Jewell.
The interlocutors spoke about economic situation in
Republic of Srpska and in BiH in light of global macroeconomic developments and
challenges in 2023 and about continuation of cooperation between the
institutions of Republic of Srpska and the IMF.
Prime Minister Višković informed the IMF delegation
about measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Srpska intended to support
the citizens by mitigating the impact of global inflationary trends and further plans of the Government. Prime Minister also conveyed the position that the Government was ready to continue
talks on possible reaching of a new arrangement with the IMF but without measures that
interfere into the constitutional position of the Republic of Srpska.
During the meeting with the IMF delegation, other matters such as the situation
in the banking sector, tax policy and other economic matters have also been
discussed.
