Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković signed today in Beijing the Agreement on construction of the hydropower plant 'Bistrica' with the President of the Steering Board of the China National Aero-Technology International Engineering Corporation, Suo Shuhe.
Prime Minister Višković said the value of three hydropower plants to be built on the Bistrica River is EUR 100 million which installed capacity will be 45 megawatts.
"In the forthcoming period, a feasibility study will be done and with it we will apply to the bank for financing so that certain deadlines have been specified in the agreement to complete the procedures in the next six to nine months in order to obtain a loan from the bank", Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska said.
Prime Minister Višković further said that an agreement for construction of a pipe factory in Foča was also signed which construction would begin at the same time as the works on the Bistrica Plant.
"The Chinese Corporation has also pledged to prepare, at its own expense, a feasibility study for the construction of Trebinje Airport. With this study, we will know how justified the investment is and if justified, we will form a joint venture which would go into realization of the project", Prime Minister Višković said.
Prime Minister Višković also met with representatives of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and discussed the funding of those projects.
"We are now waiting for the bank's response and preparing all the documentation required for the bank to approve the financial resources, first of all, for the hydropower plant at Bistrica since construction of the pipe factory in Foča is conditioned with this construction. The moment the construction of the power plant begins, the construction of the pipe factory shall also start", Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković said.
