International Scientific and Professional Symposium “Infoteh Jahorina 2026” has begun

Објављено:

At the International Scientific and Professional Symposium "Infoteh Jahorina 2026", which began today and is organised by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Istočno Sarajevo, 244 papers from 28 countries will be presented.

Assistant Minister for Scientific and Technological Development, Zoran Bjelajac, noted that the symposium's 25-year history speaks volumes about the commitment and dedication of its organisers. He praised the University of Istočno Sarajevo, as well as the leadership of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, emphasising that the symposium is of strategic importance for the relevant ministry, as it contributes to the development of science and innovation.

"The Ministry will continue to provide financial support for this event," Bjelajac stated.

The Rector of the University of Istočno Sarajevo, Milan Kulić, highlighted that "Infoteh" is the highest-quality scientific event organised by the university. Kulić added that the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is one of the most important members of the university, playing a significant role in the implementation of international projects.

The Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Istočno Sarajevo, Božidar Popović, said that for the 25th jubilee "Infoteh" symposium, 244 papers by around 850 authors from 28 countries have been selected. He noted that more than 453 scientific and professional papers from 33 countries were submitted, but after peer review, 244 were accepted, confirming the high quality of the conference and its attractiveness to authors worldwide.

Popović explained that the working part of the symposium is organised through sessions, round tables, invited lectures and presentations. Special attention is also given to young researchers and students, with a dedicated student session planned.

The Rector of the University of Priština, temporarily based in Kosovska Mitrovica, Nebojša Arsić, stated that he is pleased to participate as a co-organiser, noting that the symposium has been running for 25 years.

"This is an extremely complex event to organise, and through its quality, the symposium has grown from a local and regional gathering into an international one," Arsić emphasised.

Professor Branko Blanuša from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka, Chair of the IEEE BiH Section, stressed that all accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore database, meaning that scientists and experts worldwide will have access to the results presented at the symposium.

Goran Đukanović from m:tel recalled that the company has been a long-standing sponsor of the event, pointing out that we live in a time of rapid technological advancement, in which artificial intelligence and new technologies are changing the way businesses operate and society functions.

"That is why cooperation between the academic community and the technological sector is of exceptional importance. Through cooperation with the faculty, scholarships and student internships, m:tel further strengthens this connection," Đukanović emphasised.

The main thematic areas of the symposium include computer systems and software, communication systems and technologies, energy, production and control systems, as well as electronic systems.

This year's symposium, which brings together experts, scientists, engineers, researchers and students in the field of information technologies and their applications in control systems, communication systems, production and electronic systems, power engineering and other areas of electrical engineering and computing, will run until Friday, March 20.
