The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Cubrilovic, Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic, Minister of Transport and Communications Nedeljko Coric, Director of Highways Dusan Topic and representatives of the Chinese company Shandong attended the ceremony in Orlovci near Prijedor.
The Prime Minister of Srpska, Radovan Višković, said that today in Orlovci, at the beginning of the historical project, the construction of the highway began, which creates a new perspective for more than half a million inhabitants.
He pointed out that one of the largest post-war investments in this area is being opened, worth more than 600 million KM.
- I am deeply convinced that our Chinese partner will report the works within the planned period of three years and that at the end of 2024 we will have the opportunity to say that Banja Luka and Prijedor are connected by a modern highway - said the Prime Minister of Srpska.
Minister Coric called it a great undertaking that China decided to invest money, knowledge and innovative solutions within its state company in the Republika Srpska, because about forty kilometers of highway to Prijedor will open new perspectives.
- As of today, the highway and its construction will significantly change the economic potential and interest of investors in the Prijedor area and open new perspectives, not only in terms of better communication and connections, faster flow of goods and services, but certainly improve the position and status of our businessmen. in this area - said Coric.
The director of the Highways of the Republika Srpska said that the construction of this highway brings progress in every respect, that new opportunities for investments, new jobs and the growth of standards and opportunities are opening up.
Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping pointed out that the Banja Luka-Prijedor highway is not only the first investment project of a Chinese company in BiH.
- The opening of this project is a step towards an even higher level of our cooperation in the economy - said Ji Ping.
