Mr. Đorđe Popović, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska, noted that cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers is necessary, considering that there are many open and unresolved issues.
He expressed hope that in the near future, he would analyze the situation in all types of traffic, determine the fastest and the most cost-effective directions and the methodology in order to eliminate the obstacles that had so far been present in the cooperation and the development of some areas of traffic.
Mr. Popović concluded that the situation is now much more relaxed and favorable compared to the situation in the past, and he explained that he believed that the cooperation between these two Ministries would certainly be at a much higher level and decisions would be made in a faster and more efficient manner.
The Minister of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers, Mr. Vojin Mitrović, stated that the Law on postal services and the Broadband Development Strategy are the current issues that burden the relevant Ministry in the Republic of Srpska, and consequently also burden the Ministry of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers.
He also added that the issues related to road and rail infrastructure are also ongoing, including the construction of the road Foča – Šćepan Polje, the border crossing, i.e. connecting BiH and Montenegro, and that the issue of rail traffic is one of the key issues that are currently relevant, stating that there is a certain pressure from the International community to do more in this area.
