Prime Minister Minić speaks with Delegation of Nizhny Novgorod region about cooperation in several areas

Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska, Savo Minić, spoke today in Banja Luka with the delegation of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Prime Minister Minić said that several very intensive meetings were held today with the Russian delegation in order to develop modalities for future cooperation in several areas. The meetings were held with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship,  Ministry of Agriculture and the academic community.

Minić stated that at the "final" meeting, in the office of the Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska, cooperation in the sectors of information technology, agriculture, medicine and pharmacy was discussed. It was agreed to form working groups that would work on specific issues and the public will soon be informed about what the working groups have prepared.

"When it comes to pharmaceutical equipment and medicines, that production would partly take place in Republic of Srpska while I insisted that the company's headquarters be in Banja Luka", Prime Minister Minić said and pointed out that Republic of Srpska had the capacity to respond to all challenges related to registration and procurement of certain medical devices.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Starostin said that it was agreed during the meetings that companies from this Russian region and Republic of Srpska would expand and strengthen their cooperation.

"As the result of today's meeting, companies from the Nizhny Novgorod Region will consider starting production on the territory of Republic of Srpska", Starostin emphasized.

He stated that cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Republic of  Srpska would be accompanied by the exchange in scientific and technology areas, and that higher education institutions, as well as the new IT university "Neimark", would play an important role in this.

"We believe that this will lead to an increase not only in the number of students from Republic of Srpska who will come to our higher education institutions, but also to active cooperation between our IT companies", Starostin said and added that also, special attention would be paid to cherishing  and strengthening of the culture of remembrance, especially with regard to World War II.

"It is great honor for us to be here. The warm welcome gives us even greater obligation to fulfill what we have discussed today", Mr. Starostin stated.
